What is the Exp. Share?

The Exp. Share is a held item that grants 50% of the battle experience to the Pokémon holding it, even if they do not participate in the fight. Additionally, the holder receives 100% of the Effort Values (EVs) from the defeated opponent.

Unlike some other versions of pokemon, you can use multiple Exp. Shares simultaneously in your party without any interference. This means you can train an entire team at once while using a single powerful Pokémon to win battles.

How to Get the Experience Share in Cobblemon: Crafting Recipe

As of version 1.4.1, the crafting recipe for the Exp. Share was updated to be more accessible. You no longer need a Diamond Helmet to craft it.

Where to Find the Ingredients

While some items like Iron and Gold are easy to find by mining normally, others require a specific strategy to find quickly.

1. Amethyst Shards

Amethyst geodes are the most difficult part of the recipe and spawn between Y levels 30 and 58. To maximize your yield, only harvest fully grown amethyst clusters and use a pickaxe with Fortune, which can give you up to 16 shards per cluster.

2. Lapis Lazuli

You can find Lapis by mining deep underground, but a faster method is trading with a Cleric villager. Once they reach level two, you can trade emeralds for Lapis, saving you a trip to the mines.

3. Iron Helmets

While you can craft these from iron ingots, the pro strategy is to trade for them with Armor villagers. This allows you to save your iron for other projects and levels up your villagers at the same time.

How to Level Up Fast in Cobblemon

Once you have crafted five or six Exp. Shares, you are ready to start grinding. Follow these steps to maximize your experience gains.

Use a Carry Pokémon

Give an Exp. Share to every Pokémon in your party except for your strongest battler. Your "carry" Pokémon will get 100% of the experience, while every other Pokémon holding the item will get 50%.

The Best Biomes for XP

To level up your Pokémon quickly, you should focus your hunting in two specific biomes:

The Lucky Egg Strategy

To speed up the process even further, try to obtain a Lucky Egg. This held item boosts the experience gained by the holder by 50%. You can find Lucky Eggs as a rare drop from wild Chansey (10% rate) or Blissey (25% rate).
